What your Property Manager should be doing during COVID-19

We are all in this together. Whether you are a business owner, employee, tenant, or landlord you are certainly feeling the effects of COVID-19. As a commercial property management company in Kitchener, Waterloo and Cambridge, Central Views is feeling the pressure however it is our job to take things on so our tenants and landlord clients don’t have to. Here are 3 simple key points we believe you should be expecting from your property management company.

  1. Keep you informed.

In times like this the media and news becomes full of updates, each with their own message and content. Sometimes all of this information can be overwhelming still leaving the reader with their questions unanswered. We have taken the initiative to go through this content and relay the information we feel most useful to Tenants and Landlords as it comes available.

  2. Be your support.

Both Landlord and Tenants may need someone to lean on during these uncertain times. By staying informed, we can be there for when our clients reach out to us and try our best to answer questions, offer our advice and hopefully be there to support them when they need it most. It is important that your property manager takes the time to get back to you even when things are busier than normal.

  3. Be your middleman as we all work through this together.

Your property manager is the connection and voice between Tenant and Landlord. It is important for your property manager to understand this mutually beneficial relationship is sensitive and both ends need to be given special consideration and thought. Though the Landlords and Tenants obligations and requirements may differ, when they can be aligned properties and businesses will prosper even during difficult times.

During the current COVID-19 environment, our next step of support will be to review, discuss and apply for Tenants and Landlords for the Canada Emergency Commercial Rent Assistance program.

CMHC has released some further details on this program, which you can find here.

Stay tuned as our next Blog will include details and feedback on this program more specifically!
